In brief, if you are a westerner, you may get the arrival visa for US$ 10/25 in some of the most entry points, such as Bali and Java. There are three ways of entering Indonesia:

Visa-free. Show your passport, get stamped, that’s it. Applies only to a few select countries, mostly in ASEAN.
Visa on arrival. Pay on arrival, get a visa in your passport, get it stamped, that’s it. Most visitors fall in this category.
Visa in advance. Obtain a visa at an Indonesian embassy before arrival.

However, you need to be aware that the regulations of Visa-free and Visa on arrival are applied onto particular entry points only. So if you are entering Indonesia via other entry points or ports, the visa is somehow required, either your National is into the category of visa-free or visa on arrival.
Indonesian Custom
The Indonesian Custom will allow you bringing certain goods into the entering points, such as 200 cigarettes or 100 gm tobacco’s products or 50 cigars, and certain reasonable quantity of perfume. There are some custom regulations regarding to the required arrival declaration, such money. If you are bringing money with the amount of more than 10 Million Rupiah, then you will have the arrival declare. Get Around Indonesia By Becak

A local traditional transportation is known as Becak. You can get around Indonesia by becak, however it’s only for a short trip in close areas. It is basically a pedicap or tricycle transportation means provided for short distances. You will be able to find the becak in certain parts on Indonesia. The Becak might be different from one area to other area. Some might have the driver sitting at the back, but some other, such as the one in Medan, might have the driver sitting next to the passenger. When you are taking the becak, you need to know and negotiate how much it costs to go to certain distance or place in order to avoid any overcharged scene. There are some cases when the driver will try getting more money than the dealt amount once you reach the destination. Therefore, you need to make sure the cost beforehand.

Note that there are no becak in Jakarta or Bali. Instead, the motorized bajaj (BAH-jai), somewhat similar to the Thai tuk-tuk, serves the same function. In some other provinces (eg. North Sumatra, Aceh) you can also find motorbikes with sidecars, known as bentor or bemo (short for becak bermotor).
